Winter Break

Winter break has been PFUN!!!!! Alina and Ania got some pfun necklaces from their cousins. Alina had a Christmas Pageant and it was pretty cute. They sang about pfive or six songs. Including the smash hit about a reindeer. Mom and I went to tea. It was pfantastic. We had shepherd's pie, little sandwiches and desserts. We also took a cooking class. See that lady in the green shirt? She was my partner. She really thought she knew what she was doing but the chef told her the soup was, "woefully under salted" after I told her I thought it needed salt and she said she thought it wasn't salt that was missing but lime. Here the pumpkin soup. Molli worked on the chili, Mom did the black and white bean dip and I did the soup. Alina had a Christmas party at school that I got to go to. Some dumbo brought this Christmas Tree made out of broccoli to the party. Put a pig in a dress and it's still a pig. In fact, the children were not fooled and I checked. When we left it still looked exactly like it did when we arrived. Molli's cream puffs were much more popular. (Alina took about 10.) When one girl bit into it she said, "Oh! They're filled with ice cream!" Just playing in the snow. They worked hard on that snowman! Mom and Dad took us all to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Mary Kay, Katie, Mary, V and I went to tea. It was pfancy. Pfinally New Year's Eve was super pfun. I ordered a turducken. I would definately do that again. I really liked it. Hope to see your pfotos soon!

Funny girls

Conversation with Alina:
Alina (to Jay): Tata, you are cool. You can speak 2 languages AND you fart a lot.

Yesterday in the car we were playing a "guess what animal I am pretending to be" game. During one of Ania's turns, she was being a 'siff'. Guess how long that took us to guess?

Ania is 4!

Ania turned 4!

She wanted shoe cupcakes for her party. Her favorite was the zebra...

 They were pretty tasty, too.

Her friend from preschool came, so she was pretty excited about that.

Happy birthday, Ania! :)

Life on the Pfarm

I've had quite a pfew pfield trips this semester. My camera broke and I had mailed it in to get pfixed pfor the last one, so no pfotos. :( It's back now! :) Anyway, Upstate New York is very pretty. The leaves are all yellow, red and purple now. This was about a month ago. Isn't it nice? I got to drive a tractor! It was a little scarier than I was expecting. Luckily I know how to drive standard. This is the machine they use to harvest corn. That was very interesting. I thought it was amazing how every every EVERYTHING is done by machine. In Burkina I knew in this magical place called America people did things like this with machines but couldn't imagine how. When we saw the machine that did the planting I asked the (stupid) question, "How many seeds do you put in each hole?" In Burkina we would put 2-4 seeds per hole. She looked at me (you can probably imagine the look), "Just one." Right. Got it. Then I did some fast (because I'm a whiz at math) calculations. They spend a lot more on rotten seeds than they should. There are of course lots more pictures of pfarm equipment. I just didn't know now many tractors would be interesting to the audience.
