Well, we've started getting ready for Christmas at the Pflum house in Michigan. And we've had our first accident....
Mary Kay was putting up this wreath above the fireplace. She fell going up the step, a little stumble, if you will, but that was nothing to what happened on the way down!!! On all fours!! Luckily she didn't hit her face on the coffee table. Look how sad she is. Sad. She limped for the rest of the day and part of the next one as well.
She sprained her ankle on the way down. I don't know which was worse, this or my cut, if you are keeping score. She also felt sick and had to lie down for a while. That's lie down, not lay down. :)
The Derek Pflums of Northville went to buy their Christmas tree last night. They chose a lovely Blue Spruce from Home Depot. For those of you who didn't go to school in Colorado, the Blue Spruce in the Colorado State tree.
Pfinally we have a pfamily pfoto by the tree. It isn't decorated yet. We've got to get the lights first and then we can decorate! The house will be very festive to greet you all when you come. I'm getting excited already.
Waiting for other people to post....Would like to see what you're doing!!!

Happy Thanksgiving
Here are our photos of the glorious day. First we see Mary Kay getting her first turky ready to put in the roaster. Yes, this really was Mary Kay's first time cooking a turkey. She did the "Martha Turkey" with cheesecloth and wine.
The next picture is one of Katie and Rhoda baking bread. Katie was pretty exicted to pull the button to turn on the machine. You see the result of that!! She was a good helper, though. She especially likes doing the taste test for quality control.
Then you see Mary Kay brining out her bird. It's very lovely and golden.
Derek decided he wanted to carve it in the kitchen and not the dining room so we brought it back in to the kitchen for carving.
Finally, there is the photo of everyone at the table. We at turky, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, spinach, 2 types of cranberry relish, carrots, brussel sprouts, and bread. For dessert we had pecan and buttermilk pie.

Getting ready for T-Day
Marco from Rome asks, "Rhoda, could you post some pictures of the turkey you are going to bake?" Sure, Marco, here it is. I will also take pictures of the preparations for you. This is our 19 pound bird. We have a special oven to cook it. Mary Kay is in charge of picking the recipe we use. She wants to do a Martha Stewart recipe.

Frog blanket
Well I finally finished this blanket! It took forever, but I think it turned out pretty cute. I'm glad to be done, and excited to figure out my next project! What will it be? What will it be? Hmm...
I just figured out that I'm not very good at putting the pictures in the spots where I want. I guess it will take some playing around with. Anyway, here are some pictures.
Molli's Sweaters
Well, fall is here. Actually, almost winter. Derek and I were babysitting on Saturday so we got to dress the girls. Guess what they wore...Something hand knit of course!!! Here are the pics.
Katie had a temp today. "The both" have a cough. Hopefully they will get well soon so they can eat lots of turkey. Hopefully the rest of us don't get sick so we can eat lots of turkey!
I have noticed that I have been the only one posting lately. This makes me sad. I do hope you all post lots of photos from Thanksgivng.

what I can't knit
Well, I'm sure you are wondering, 'What knitting is missing Rhoda's attention right now while she is incapacitated?' Well, here it is...
As you can see in the top picture, the row worked is left uncompleted in the middle because I started BLEEDING from my CUT. So I had to stop mid row. Didn't even get to finish one half.
Mary Kay from Northville asks, 'Is that type faster than regular knitting?' No, Mary Kay, it isn't. That is the pattern I picked to be a little different. I think it might actually be a little slower than regular (stockinette stich). Mary Kay is not a knitter. But she is curious and I like to share with her. So I forgive her for not knitting.

I cut my finger
Yesterday I was cutting some broccoli. I was cutting the big purple rubberband around it. I was using a knife that was too small. I put the kife under the rubberband and lifted up. And then ouch. Sliced my finger. It bled a lot. Luckily I called Mary Kay and then Vittoria heard me and came down to help. It doesn't look so bad, but I bled through 2 paper towels! Actually, when it first happend I wrapped a paper towel around it and kept cooking. Then I noticed blood on the cutting board and decided to see if it were worse than I thought.
Molli from Westminster asks, "Can you still knit?" No, Molli, I cannot. I tried last night to knit and it started bleeding again. I could feel it start soon after I began knitting. I tried to battle, but it was no use. I had to stop after about 20 stiches. Sad.

Wow
I had to try about 15 user names before it finally accepted one. I tried 'doesanythingwork' - and it said that was unavailable. I tried 'mollinoga', 'mnoga', 'mpflum', 'mollin', 'thissucks', and none of those worked. Finally it took 'mollip', so I guess that's what my user name is, even though I am not Molli P anymore. Oh well. At least I'm in. :)

Christmas
Had a test today. It was awful. Thought so much about the answers and then went back and changed a couple. They say don't do that. I think there's a reason...
Anyway, about Christmas....I'm going to be here. And probably so is Marco. Can you all come? It would be great to spend the holidays together. It's been a long time since I've been here... Not to guilt anyone into it, but if it works :)
Jay said he wants to just do it and get it done with what people want. What do you all want to do this year for Christmas? I realize we all make different amounts of money, but do you want to set a limit? Draw names? Or all pitch in what we can and get people one big nice gift?
I've also decided to start sharing photos on this. Going to start with my favorite from when Libby and I went to Scotland.
