Catch Up

So I have been meaning to post for sometime now...Here is a catch up...

Kristi took me riding and that was a lot of fun. I got to meet her horse Friday. He was big.

This horse was allergic to dust. I guess even some horses are clever and realize how dirty that place is! I sneezed only once or twice...:)

Look at this horse's tongue. He just held it out like that. I wanted to go yank it, but I didn't.

This is the chair I got with some birthday money. See the little roof? That helps me not get wrinkles.

Here are a few more pictures from my race weekend up north.

The Bridge.

This is a bunch of glorious knitters sitting on a glorious porch having a glorious time. Did I mention Lora's family owns her cottage and the one to the right and left of it? They must really have a good time when everyone is there!

This is the bracelet I got.

New bed

Alina got a new big girl bed this weekend. We thought having Elmo all over it would help make the transition easier... but she does NOT like it when I leave her in that bed and leave the room. So far we just say good night to Elmo and still sleep in the crib.

Update: She is now sleeping full time in the big girl bed. She is doing pretty well with it.

Back yard

I don't think I ever posted final pictures of the back yard. If I did... well here they are again. :)

No 634

Ran my first race this weekend.

Here is Amy, Lora, me, Susanne and Judie pre-race on Mackinac Island.

I'm going so FAST that I'm just a blur. :)

And so fast again that the photog can't even catch me as I get ready to cross the finish line.

I was pretty happy with the results. 28 place in my division (out of 83) with a final time of 1:13:00. Average pace per mile: 9:08

After the race there was lots of food. I ate 2 bananas and 2 oranges. I was hungry! I had never done a race so I found this very interesting all of the food ready for you.

And then everybody cheersed me.

More pics will come from the weekend, but right now you can just enjoy my race glory with me.

Cake Class

I took a great cake class and here are the results. It was a lot of fun.

There were 4 of us in the class and this is everyone's first cake.

Mine. I was practicing writing and didn't know what to write.

My first rose.

Guess which one I made and which one the teacher made.

I asked her if she thought these roses were granny. She said yes. I'm not sure I'd put them on a cake.

The last cake. I missed the second cake with the clowns. I liked it though. It was yellow and fun.

Up North for Labor Day Weekend

We went to Frankfort, MI, for Labor Day (you'll have to wait for Rhoda to show me how to put a map here) with the Montgomerys. We stayed at a place where there were about 14 little cabins; ours had one bedroom, a futon and a kitchen. The weather was fantastic and there was lots to do, but we would have had a better time if Mary hadn't been sick and if Vittoria (the little one) would have slept for more than an hour and a half at a time.
There was a sand box. Katie nearly always came out of it looking like she had a black eye.

Katie and Alexandra burying my feet.

Mary practicing a look.

The Western Michigan coastline.

Katie's First Day of Kindergarten

Katie had her first day of school today. Mary Kay and Vittoria put her on the bus (for an hour!) and then raced to the school to get pictures of the arrival.

She was the first one off. Makes for a very nice picture.

A throng (or hoard) of adoring parents.

They made their way to the doors.

And inside.
