Zingerman's Rolls

Rhoda recently sent out the recipe for Zingerman's cinnamon rolls. I made them for the day after Thanksgiving. They are as good as we would expect from Zingerman's. Not too hard either. But the 2 hour proof in the morning could be a drag.

Vittoria Does what Katie Says

Thanksgiving 2009 in Michigan

We finally got a turkey sufficiently large as not to be embarrassing - 36 pounds. It cooked in about 7 hours, so we ate by noon (thanks to Vittoria getting up at her normal time (early for the rest of us) to start the bird). We had a few leftovers. Unfortunately, I was not very good at getting the cheesecloth off the bird. I will have to practice. I need a haircut.

Brownie Parade

Katie walked with the Brownies for our Thanksgiving parade. The local brownie troops represented different nations; Katie's represented Jamaica. With much authenticity.

Mary did not like the paparazzi.

This is me!

Elmira Star Gazette

(Do-doo-do-doooo!!!)  What's that sound?  That's me, tooting my own horn.

Edited:  We now have pictures...  I hosted my first town meeting.  Not all by myself, of course, but I did it.   Here people are arriving.

We had opening remarks and then a visual preference survey of how people vision their park.

I led a group discussion. That was trick because in rehearsal that was not my job so I didn't pay attention and didn't know what questions I was supposed to ask and the like. :)

Then people reported what their groups talked about and what they wanted.

See the news?

And then I talked at the end.

Photoshop

I got Photoshop and now I will post the cool things I can do with my photos.  Like merging photos.  This is the UN chambers room that I referred to a few days ago.  Neat, huh?  This is really about 10 photos.

Ania's birthday party

Happy Birthday, Ania!!
Ania (unlike her sister) had no issues getting her hands and face messy by digging into the cake on her birthday. She loved it.

Alina found a new use for lipstick. We'll call it teethstick. (I really only wanted to post the first 25 seconds of this video... but alas I do not know how to crop (probably don't have the correct software).)

"No, Gwamma. Like THIS"
Isn't this lovely??

Here were a few while decorating pumpkins. Ania was not that unhappy the whole time, only when I wanted her to sit down to take the picture. :)

One year old pictures

Here are some of Ania's one year old pictures. She didn't want to smile TOO much... but there are still some cute ones.

We got some other cute ones of them together, but those are for Christmas cards so I don't want to ruin those. :)

Here are some that are not "touched up" (at least not yet) but are pretty cute.

Here is a fun little sequence of events. Alina found a dead fly on the floor. She is obsessed with all things dead (worms, bees, flies)... so she had to show it to Ania. Even if it meant dragging her across the floor by her arm.

"Ania, there's a dead fly over there!"

"Come on! Let's go see it!"

"We're almost there!!"
(if you look closely, you can see it on the floor)

"There..."

Just admiring it.

End of Pfcruise

Our cruise ended in Porec, Croatia, and Venice.....

St Marc's Cathedral

It was high tide and raining in Venice...... They put up the "walk ways" so that. you don't walk in the water

Dogge Museum
Winery in Porec
Porec.... a charming OLD city
On the way from where we docked to Porec, there was a little area with grappa..... NOT as bad as the Italian grappa......
