March Madness

Big party weekend in MI! Pfirst Mary had a sweet shoppe themed party.

Mary Kay was prepared, clipboard and all.

She lost a tooth.
All that time in StuGo in high school paid off. Sort of. I rented a helium tank and we made a balloon arch. I had them counted for the center and then realized we only got seven orange balloons. It was a bit wonky. Came up with a bunch of ideas after the fact how to fix it. Next time.

V had her sixth birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.

I tried to coach her how to do this before she got in there by sitting on the fan but as you can see she panicked.

All Because a Cup of Coffee

Mary won a writing contest and got to have her play performed at school. She was inspired by Mary Kay's reaction to caffeine.
After school we went to Culver's to celebrate.

Final Olympic Analysis

What can we see? It's clear. Russia cheated. And most likely Canada and Norway.

At kindergarten you have to clip up or clip down. At kindercare, they just yell at you. That's why I like kindercare.

The Olympics Part 2

UPDATE 20-Feb-14 7:48

Original post 18-Feb-14

It's really quite the race! And other analysts don't tell you the full story. Only $156.75 separate first and second place! 0.000504939%! You don't get that type of review other places, people. $1,355.50 separate third and fourth. About 1%. Poland isn't in the top ten but has four medals, 100% GOLD.

The top there countries have won 27% of the total prize money. Include the US and it is 36%

V: "No, by numbers."
Me: "How long did it take you?"
V: "About a minute or an hour and a half."

Do you want to build an igloo

The Olympics

Not only do I love the weather but now I love the Olympics and can talk about my obsession there as well.  There is always the age old debate, what is more important, total medals or most golds? I have figured out the way to balance that out. Prize money and medal value wins. Using this calculation we can see who really is the best. I think I'll update this post regularly.

14-Feb-14 15:55

A lot of action since my last update. I'm not going to lie and say I wasn't getting frustrated that the U.S. wasn't stomping the competition. But the sweep changed all that!

We also have some interesting changes in prize money. U.S. and Norway are tied for second. Germany is in the lead, though some sources would have you believe they are sixth. Poland got her second gold.

Nine days left!

10-Feb-14 21:48
Canada is in the lead!

There was an error in my previous calculation. Cell error in Excel. I'll leave the posts, but just know while I think the places are correct, not by that amount.

9-Feb-14 10:40

I'm not sure how long I'll keep all countries that earn medals. We have quite a few additions and the graph is getting quite crowded. Russia finally medaled. Also Britain and Italy.

8-Feb-14 15:22

8-Feb-14 14:10pm
1.  Norway $76,458.25
2.  Netherlands $50,829.25
3.  USA! USA! USA! $25,566

Maybe it will brighten your day.
