Alina's birthday party and a whole lot of other pictures

It's been a very long time since I posted... so this one has a lot of pictures. Since Blogger puts them in reverse order (and I don't feel like taking the time to change them back), they are in reverse order. Today was Alina's birthday party.

Babcia and Ania as we were leaving. Ania was ready for a nap!

Riding a horse!

Uncle Glenn pointed out that he's been to more of Alina's birthday parties than Grandma and Grandpa. :)

Some of the party goers at cake time.

Ryan helped Alina blow out her candles since Alina got really shy during the birthday song and almost didn't have the courage to blow them out herself.

Being shy during the birthday song.

Talking to Chuck E Cheese on the phone. She liked it better when she talked to him on the phone than when he came over to say hi to her.

Ania LOVED the slide.

Uncle Josh showing Alina how to punch the ducks.

The birthday cake. She wanted a purple cake with Princess Analiese (sp?). I also included the cat, Serafina. For some reason blogger wants this picture sideways.

Pushing Ania in the grocery cart.

While I was making Alina's cake... RIGHT next to Ania... she somehow managed to get into the cabinet, open the coffee container, and dump it all over the kitchen floor. All without me noticing a thing (until it was too late). Oh well, it was FUN! :)

They have rediscovered the Elmo doll Aunt Libby gave to Alina when Ania was born. It is a big hit again now.

Ania likes to take her pants off. It's a neat trick. I usually have to put her in overalls or a onesie when I take her to day care.

Here Alina has on not one, not two, not three, but FOUR dresses.

We made a snowman a few weeks ago. Man, that's a lot of work!! I was sore for 2 days I think.

This is what Ania's face looked like after the incident with Kuba knocking her over and us ending up in the urgent care. Poor little thing!

And that's it! We're having their pictures taken tomorrow, so I am sure I will post more after that.

Around the House

Here is a nice picture of Vittoria.

This is what she looks like when we tell her to smile. She must be related to Alina.

Here is Mary.

Conversations with Mary

Mary - "I want to take a shower. Cause if I have to pee, I can just let it go."
Mary Kay - "That's not how it's supposed to work, Mary. It will make our shower kind of stinky."
Mary - "No, cause there's a big hole."

Getting Closer

You can ignore that part in red. It's been there since April '09. The important part is at the bottom...Soon. Very soon.

Ithaca is Cold

And we have shirts to prove it. But it is also gorges.

These falls have frozen partially solid. I keep waiting for it to freeze completely before posting but got tired. We haven't got much snow. I'm not sure it's going to happen.

It is so pfgorges that I have started taking my camera running.

Oh, the hilarity on campus!

Dinner Party

I decided to host a little dinner party. We may start doing it every few weeks or so.

These are my friends Karla (if you poke around, you'll see me!), Amath and Liz.
I made crespelle two different ways. It was supposed to be with guinnea fowl, but I used Cornish Hen. Then I realized when I got home and weighed it I had only bought 1/2 what I needed. So I added sausage. Stupid metric system. I did find this cool blog while looking for recipes. The Artichoke Blog. I love artichokes.

My favorite type of wine. Usually it is pretty expensive but this time it was 6.99. I might have to go stock up.

It was pretty good but I had forgotten how differently Italian recipes are written compared to American ones. You might think, "How could a recipe be written differently?" and I would have agreed with you. But theirs are different and sometimes it doesn't make much sense.

Perhaps you are thinking my photos look a bit like crap. You are right. I have had this camera for several years and had never dropped it. In the past 2 months I have dropped it four times. :( The auto flash broke and it ticks sometimes. I'm looking to get a new one. Any suggestions? I'd like GPS on it or something fancy so that when I take a picture it knows exactly where I am.
